Summer Research Studentships in Optometry & Vision Sciences
DOVS is offering a number of highly competitive summer research scholarships to currently enrolled undergraduate students who are planning to continue their studies at postgraduate research level in the future. This Scheme will enable students to gain valuable research experience, supervised by our team of academics at state of the art research facilities at DOVS/NVRI/MBC. Internships are normally offered for a 4-8 week period during December - February each year.
Applicants should have recently completed the first year of the Doctor of Optometry, third or fourth year of the Bachelor of Optometry or the second/ third year of the Bachelor of Biomedical Science, or a Bachelor of Science, with a major in an appropriate science area (not limited to vision science). Students with an interest in the biological and physical sciences, neuroscience, psychophysics or patho-physiology of disease are encouraged to apply. Applicants will be assessed on the basis of academic performance in their studies to-date.
Three students were successful in the Summer Research Studentships for 2011-2012, there were a number of very good quality applications, but only a limited number of studentships available. Congratulation to the following students who will be undertaking the following projects.
