Vale George Smith
It is with deep regret that we advise that our dear friend and colleague George Smith has passed away, following a diagnosis of cancer late last year. Retiring just four years ago as an Associate Professor having served the University and this Department for nearly 30 years (but still enjoying research to the end), time was not kind. His friendly face, easy-going wit and academic acumen will be missed by all of us who had the pleasure of walking or working alongside him.
