Annual Leave
You may take up to 4 weeks of annual leave in each year of your candidature. The annual leave cannot be accrued from year to year.

Leave of Absence
You can apply Leave of Absence from at least 2 weeks up to 12 months for the reasons of sickness, family or carer responsibilities or other reasons that prevent you to carry out research. International students may only be grant leave of absence for a period of 6 months or less, as leave of absence for more than 6 months will usually lead to visa cancellation, and students will need to re-apply for a student visa. On returning from leave, you are required to submit the "Advice of Return from Leave" form immediately to the SGS within 5 days of your leave expiry date."
